The Commons (Post 4)

So began the Common boys’ first visit to Livornia, with Treeguide leading them, and Liam and Finn taking it all in with excitement, wonder, and a healthy bit of nervousness.

Much like Treeguide, the tree kingdom blended very well into the canopy - so much so that Liam and Finn had to squint to see the structures that were ahead of them. It was only when Liam and Finn looked hard that they could see the rope-strung bridges that connected one trunk to the next, and the houses that sat perched on each end of each bridge. Each house was constructed from a mixture of wood and leaves, and each had a small porch in front - wide enough for a small chair or two for sitting, while also allowing for the foot traffic from the rope bridges. The front of each house consisted of a doorframe in its middle, and two small windows on each side.

As Treeguide led the way from house to bridge and house to bridge, the Common brothers peered inside of each house they clambered passed. Each interior was unique,…
